First built as a private villa in 1890 by the then-famous local architect, Pietro Delugan, the Hotel Westend serves as a shining example of his art and his skill.
Boasting one of the most beautiful facades in Merano at the time, the Hotel Westend is now justly recognised as a true Art Nouveau gem and has been listed since 1984.

Pleasantly situated along the cools, shady river-side walk once known as Stefanie Promenade, the Vill was first sold to the Pöder family in 1907 who managed it through the troubled times of two World Wars and the extremely unsettled period that followed.
Many famous guests have stayed at the Westend, including the German poet Gottfried Benn, who wrote many letters and poems to friends and family during his stay.
